The 28th edition of the Euskal Herria Zuzenean festival, the first to be held in Arberatze-Zilhekoa, took place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a “healthy and comfortable” atmosphere. For three days, thousands of people have gathered in the square and the Arberatze field to get the most out of a luxury poster.
The EHZ has overcome the challenge of the new location “thanks to the 600 volunteers who have taken turns day and night,” the organization explained.
Despite the rain on Saturday, the EHZ has highlighted the performances of Gorka Urbizu, Nakar and Su Ta Gar, as well as those of Rüdiger, bassist Vincen García, the group Bloñ and Old School Funky Family, which closed this year’s edition.
Furthermore, given the advance that the extreme right is having in the world and particularly in the French State, “in this dark and turbulent context” EHZ has made a call to confront the ideas of the extreme right “from culture and Basque , and also strengthening our relationships, to the extent that the racist, sexist, authoritarian and oppressive vision of the world that the extreme right reflects is being normalized.
