According to a fan who visited Roger Moore’s grave, the actor’s monument in a cemetery in Monaco was vandalized. He showed photos.

An anonymous man told TMZ that last week he stopped at Cimetière de Monaco – a small cemetery in La Colle, Monaco, to see the resting place of the actor who played James Bond for years. As he searched for the grave, which he knew stood out among the other tombstones with a large family coat of arms, he realized that the burial site had been vandalized. A large piece depicting the Moore family crest was torn off the headstone.

A TMZ reporter contacted local police. It turned out that it was only from him that the officers learned about the devastation of the grave. Similar information was provided by the cemetery managers.

The man posted the photos online, causing outrage among Moore’s fans over the act of vandalism. They write about the lack of respect for the burial place and the actor himself, and that they are shocked by it.

Roger Moore first played James Bond, taking over the role from Sean Connery and George Lazenby in 1973. He played Agent 007 for 12 years and appeared in seven films of this cult series. He appeared as Bond in the films: “Live and Let Die” (1973), “The Man with the Golden Gun” (1974), “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977), “Moonraker” (1979), “For Your Eyes Only” (1981), “Octopussy” (1983) and “A View to a Kill” (1985).

He was also known, among others, from the role of Simon Templar, the title character of the British crime series “The Saint” from 1962-1969. In 2003, he was knighted for his work with UNICEF. Roger Moore died in 2017 at the age of 89 as a result of cancer.
