Michał Probierz began his sports career as a junior in ŁKS Łagiewniki, and in 1990 he moved to the senior team of Ruch Chorzów. He also played in the Polish U-19 and U-21 national teams. As a coach, he had 18 teams under his wing, and since 2023 he has been in charge of the Polish national team. He was born in 1972 in Bytom. His father was a football referee and it was he who introduced his son to love football. Michał Probierz is considered a very family man who likes spending time with his loved ones, so the death of his father was a very difficult experience for him. – My father was ill for 22 years. His mother took care of him. Only she knows how much she suffered. That’s why I appreciate her very much. I feel a bit strange when I go to my father’s grave and look at the inscription “Henryk Probierz”. These are difficult issues – he said in an interview with Fakt.

The coach was with Katarzyna, the daughter of the footballer and Łódź city activist, Tadeusz Gapiński. He had two sons with her and is now a grandfather. The marriage fell apart and the coach got together with Marta, who comes from Podlasie. It is not known, however, whether the couple got married. As he admitted in an interview, they met in a restaurant and ran into each other three more times that same day. Finally, Michał Probierz decided to talk to the woman. – We started dating, we are together and we are… opposites. Other points of view do not have to be an obstacle to fit together like halves of an apple, he confessed. In 2016, their son Henryk was born.
The coach had an accident on the pitch and lost feeling. “I can’t smile from this side at all”
Michał Probierz had an accident during one of the matches. Another player punched him in the face, causing him to lose feeling in part of his face. – I can’t smile at all on this side because I have no feeling.
