Spiders are entering some houses in large numbers. Not everyone is bothered by their presence, after all, they are useful and they deal with flies and mosquitoes. However, many of us still tolerate them as long as they are out of sight. There are many ways to get rid of this problem. For example, a spider trap comes in handy. However, to avoid additional stress for yourself and intruders, it is worth trying a way to deter them.
Spider repellent? Instead of a slipper, take what you have in the kitchen
A spider repellent is a better option than charging in with a slipper in your hand. We can buy a lot of products in stores to help us get rid of them. However, we have to go to the supermarket, choose the right product, and pay – sometimes quite a lot of money. A better solution may be to use what we already have at home. It turns out that popular products perfectly combat the problem of spiders, and their action is based on aromas that irritate them.

What smell do spiders dislike?
Many people will be happy that in order to deal with them, it is enough to use things that smell really pleasant to us. Spiders, on the other hand, run away as fast as they can. What smell do spiders dislike? These include lemon, mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon and chestnuts. Vinegar is also not attractive to them, but it must be admitted – neither is it to us. We can make a spider repellent from what we already have at home or in the garden. These can be, for example:
- sliced lemons (e.g. arranged on a decorative plate),
- peppermint in pots,
- jars with essential oils,
- cinnamon sticks or powdered, sprinkled on saucers.
Just place these items on the windowsills. Spiders, sensing irritating odors, will avoid our windows. And we will sleep more soundly. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
