The ‘Love the 90’s’ festival has gone one step further and has established itself as the largest global event dedicated to the music of the 90s. Held at the IFEMA Madrid Fairgrounds, this year’s event has brought together more than 35,000 attendees in a day that has been a true festival of nostalgia and fun.

Organized by Sharemusic!, the festival had five spectacular stages, designed by the best teams specialized in technology, audiovisuals and atmosphere in Spain. Each stage offered a unique experience, allowing attendees to enjoy the best Dance songs, Pop-Rock, the most popular summer hits, and for the first time, a stage dedicated exclusively to 90s Techno music.

The staging was impressive, with more than 70 artists performing live. The shows, synchronized with pyrotechnics, lighting and laser effects, were on par with major international tours. Additionally, Sharemusic! recreated a summer atmosphere with the Beach Stage, full of iconic elements from the 90s.

The Dance Stage was one of the busiest, with unforgettable performances by artists such as Gala, who started the night with her emblematic “Freed from Desire”, and Eiffel 65, who made everyone vibrate with “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”. 2 Unlimited brought the energy to the max with their hits “No Limit” and “Twilight Zone,” while Ultra Naté dazzled with their unmistakable “Free.” Snap! and his “Rhythm Is a Dancer” kept the crowd moving, and ICE MC brought a rap touch with “Think About the Way.” Fernandisco’s performance added a nostalgic touch, recalling his time as one of the most influential DJs of the time.

On the POP Repsol Stage, Jon Secada received one of the biggest ovations of the night with his emotional performance of “Just Another Day.” Fools Garden enchanted with their eternal “Lemon Tree”, and Nacha Pop made everyone sing with “La Chica de Ayer”. Rafa from La Unión and hers “Wolf Man in Paris” were a direct trip to the hearts of the attendees, while Modestia Apart and Alejo Stivel remembered the golden days of Spanish pop.

The Beach Stage offered a festive and relaxed atmosphere with Lou Bega lighting up the party with “Mambo No. 5”. Real McCoy had everyone dancing with “Another Night,” and Whigfield recreated his classic “Saturday Night” with infectious energy. King África, with his unmatched charisma, got everyone dancing with “La Bomba”, while Azúcar Moreno and his “Solo Se Vive una Vez” brought flamenco-pop to the event. Locomía, with their unique aesthetic and dance, revived the glamor of the 90s.

On the Techno Stage, Information Society was the standout with their futuristic “What’s on Your Mind (Pure Energy)”, which took lovers of the genre into musical ecstasy. Cristian Varela, with his special 90s set, showed why he is one of the most respected DJs on the scene. N3uron4l aka DJ Pepo and Marion of Invisible Limits kept the tempo high, while Steve Hovington of B-Movie and Mark Shaw of Then Jerico added an international touch to the stage.

In addition to music, the festival offered a chill out area, a picnic area, catering and an amusement area, ensuring that attendees had a complete and enjoyable experience. The combination of talent, technology and impeccable organization made ‘Love the 90’s 2024’ an unforgettable event.

Madrid said goodbye to the night with the certainty that the magic of the 90s is still alive in the hearts of many, and that music has the unique power to unite generations and create indelible memories. This year’s edition has left an indelible mark on the city’s festival calendar, and fans are already looking forward to the next edition of ‘Love the 90’s’.
