“Alienation”: refers to the mental state of someone who is not responsible for their actions. A concept that has served as inspiration for many artists throughout history, from painters like Van Gogh or Munch to bands like Nirvana, to name a few.

This idea aroused the interest of the Valencian artist Sienna some time ago, who has turned to it to develop and compose his third album, “TRANCE”, an album that was released on May 10 coinciding with the presentation concert at his Native Valencia.

In ten songs, Sienna materializes that mental state in which she immerses herself when she is on stage and breaks her own definitions of “I”, intermingling the different personalities that coexist with each other and taking them to the extreme. An experimental journey in which Álex Moreno & Pablo Fergus (Amaral, Kinder Malo) add to the production and Rubén Montes (Carlos Ares, Juancho Marqués) to the mixing and mastering.

In this new universe, the differences are palpable with respect to the artist’s previous works, such as “melancolic” or “Tiempos de Impacto”, who has managed to keep his identity intact but adding new ingredients to his productions, giving them a different perspective. It is worth highlighting the importance of the synths in the songs that make up “TRANCE”, elements that have been fundamental in the construction of a common thread that unifies the album and maintain their expression together with the nuances of Álex’s own voice. Songs like ‘I thought it was eternal’, ‘Fuera (x3)’ or ‘Como un animal’ twist the artist’s own self-image and self-perception, taking new risks in the production and lyrics of the songs.

Regarding lyrics, this continues to be the driving force of the Valencian musician’s compositions. In this new work, emphasis is placed on the importance of the changing perspective, one that is capable of modifying realities. But Sienna also delves into the opposite construction, that is, how realities end up changing views that only drank from imposed prejudices and dogmas. Topics like ‘I have to let go’, ‘Crystals in my mind’ or ‘You can’t stop’ affect that vital catharsis and that fatigue of the artist who just wants to explode and stay in shock, in TRANCE and simply BE.

In this way, “TRANCE” marks a turning point in the career of Sienna, who understands this work as the door to continue twisting her sound, speech and even her own identity with the sole objective of surrendering to the work and letting it be. speak for itself.

The release of this new album is accompanied by a careful 12-inch vinyl edition whose art has been designed by Danny Leiva.
