“Awantura o kasy” with its host was once one of the most popular game shows in Poland. The premiere episode aired on Polsat at the beginning of November 2002 and immediately became a sensation. Each subsequent installment of the program attracted millions of viewers, watching with interest the participants’ struggles and their fight for the main prize. Although viewership results remained consistently high, after less than 3 years a decision was made to suspend the program.
“Money Brawl” will be back on the air! Polsat has made a decision. Will Ibisz be its host again?
When the game show went off the air, many were disconsolate. He also did not understand the station’s decision, and thanks to it he gained enormous popularity. – This TV story used to be a bit different, but if I look at my game shows, such as “Awantura o kasy” or earlier “Chance of a Lifetime”, I actually think that they could also be successfully broadcast today – he said some time ago in an interview with Polsat.pl. And although years passed and the format did not return to the air, he still maintained that if Polsat ever decided to reactivate it, it would be happy to get involved in the implementation and return to the air in its former role. – I think that if they came back, they would be big hits again – he said without hesitation, adding that this formula is simply timeless. – It’s just a matter of the way of telling the story, and ultimately what is most important is repeatable – he added.
Now it turns out that his vision may soon come true. As determined by the Pomponik portal, he decided to restore “Awantura o kasę” to the schedule. What’s more, Ibisz is to play the host role again. Details are not known yet as the work is at an early stage, so everything is kept strictly secret. However, it is known that the first recordings will probably be made in just a few days, and new episodes will be broadcast in autumn 2024.
What is the “Money Brawl”? It’s not just general knowledge that counts
The rules were not complicated, but required the participants not only general knowledge, but also skills in bidding and negotiations. Three four-person teams took part in the first stage. At the start, each of them received PLN 5,000. The zlotys they had at their disposal during the auction. he spun the wheel, drawing the category from which the question was selected, and then charged PLN 200 from each group and started the bidding.
Those competitors who offered the highest bid could provide an answer, for which they had only one minute. If they managed to answer correctly, they received money from the pot, otherwise the entire amount went to the next problem’s pot. In the final, the team that managed to collect the highest amount of money competed against the so-called Champions, i.e. the winners of the previous episode.
