They hear “please prepare for the examination” and they freeze. One thing is more stressful than a plane

A visit to a gynecologist usually involves a short interview, examination and presentation of further recommendations. The scheme seems simple, but along the way there are many dilemmas that really stress many patients. This makes us feel insecure when visiting a gynecologist or we decide not to visit a gynecologist at all. For many women, shoes are a big problem.

A visit to the gynecologist is a lot of stress for many women. For this reason, we sometimes postpone it indefinitely. Fortunately, doctors are increasingly reaching out to their patients and showing what their profession looks like from the other side. Thanks to this, we become more familiar with them and we can, for example, board the “plane” with greater peace of mind. Such people include Dr. Marta Wójcik. In a recent recording, she revealed what patients often fear.

“What about shoes at the gynecologist? Should I take them off or leave them on?” A doctor without beating around the bush

What about shoes at the gynecologist? Take it off or leave it? Climb into the armchair in socks or stay in shoes, high heels, flip-flops or stockings? Barefoot or in your own shoes? Or maybe they have disposable slippers or protectors?

– the gynecologist wonders in the recording. There are so many possibilities and perhaps their multitude means that many women simply don’t know what to do. The doctor explained quickly, concisely and to the point: – Most gynecologists don’t care! It’s up to you what you do. And if you don’t know, ask your gynecologist.

“Do you know that sometimes a sock is much worse than a shoe?”

There were many statements in the comments. It turns out that the problem actually affects a large number of women. Some have their own opinions on this subject. Others emphasized that different specialists have different rules. In this case, the best solution seems to be an open question to the doctor. “At my gynecologist, patients take off their shoes in the waiting room, right behind the door, on a special mat. We put their shoes on a rack and wear socks to the office,” wrote one of the users. “My doctor has these disposable slippers,” another one laughed.

Me in shoes. I will not walk in socks along a path where other patients wear shoes

– emphasized another.

There were also quite contradictory opinions between supporters of wearing shoes and socks. Some women said it was not very hygienic to wave shoes in the doctor’s face, others said the same about socks. “It wouldn’t occur to me to wave my shoes in front of the doctor’s face,” said one of the people, to which the author of the recording replied: “Do you know that sometimes a sock is much worse than a shoe?” Another Internet user’s statement may be a compromise here. She reconciled all parties in three words: “Anything, as long as it’s clean.” If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
