At the beginning of this year, “Akacjowa 38” debuted on TVP2, a production that was so well received in its native Spain that it had as many as 7 seasons and nearly 1,500 episodes. So far, 401 episodes have been broadcast in Poland, and more will appear on Polish Television in the coming days. Next week, the station will also present viewers another Spanish-language production, the series “La Promesa – the palace of secrets”.
What is “La Promesa” about?
The action of the series takes place in 19th-century Spain, where the main character Jana, many years after the murder of her mother and the kidnapping of her brother, is still trying to find out who caused this unimaginable tragedy to her family. One of the clues leads to the dangerous Lujan family. The young woman takes a job at the estate as a maid, and soon after saves Manuel, the younger brother of the heir to the family estate, from a plane crash. Shortly thereafter, Tomas is murdered by an unidentified assailant, and Jana becomes the suspect in the crime.
“La Promesa” – cast and premiere date
The main characters were played by Ana Garcés, known from the Netflix series “Machos alfa”, and Arturo Sancho, for whom this is one of his first television appearances. The cast of the Spanish production also included: Eva Martín, known from the Netflix series “Valeria”, Manuel Regueiro, María Castro and Joaquín Climent. The first episode of the series “La Promesa” will debut on TVP2 on June 27 at 15:05.
