These white larvae are not food moths. Get to work right away. They multiply rapidly

Have you noticed cream-colored, crawling larvae in the kitchen? This terrible sight may portend serious trouble if you ignore the matter and do not deal with it in time. Before you know it, they will transform into a swarm of flies that will lay more eggs and the circle will close. How to get rid of fly larvae from your home?

If fly larvae appear in the house, it is a sign that thorough cleaning is needed. Their presence not only causes disgust, but can also contribute to the spread of diseases or contamination of food. Do you clean all the rooms regularly and you don’t know where they could have come from? It doesn’t take much to accidentally provide them with the right conditions for reproduction and growth.

Where do flies lay their eggs in the house? Go through all the suspicious nooks and crannies

The warm season favors the breeding of flies, so swarms of them can lurk under our windows. Once they get into the house and find a suitable place, they lay hundreds of eggs, which hatch into small, white larvae. Where do they have the best conditions for development?

  • Nooks and crannies in the kitchen. Crumbs or food leftovers lying in the sink drain or under kitchen cabinets that have not been thoroughly cleaned are an ideal place for flies to lay eggs and for larvae to develop.
  • Wastebasket. If you go away for a few days without first throwing away the waste (especially food leftovers or food packaging), you may find an unpleasant surprise in the form of crawling bugs upon your return.
  • Pet droppings. If we have a cat or a dog, we must pay special attention to places where they sometimes make “surprises”. Hidden feces behind the sofa or in another inaccessible place are an ideal breeding ground for the larvae.
  • Coffee machine. When you drink small amounts of coffee, you may not have to empty the grounds container for a long time. This is a big mistake because it provides a great hiding place for flies to lay eggs.

How to get rid of fly larvae from your home? The combat can be quite tedious

Before the larvae settle in the kitchen for good and transform into dozens of flies, thorough cleaning should be carried out. If you have located where they are feeding, pour boiling water over it and use rubber gloves to collect the larvae into a tight bag and take them to the trash bin. Then, each nook and cranny should be thoroughly washed with disinfectant and wiped dry with a cloth. Regularly get rid of any food scraps, take out the trash daily and check the corners of floors and countertops. Make sure there are no damp places in your home and install mosquito nets on windows and doors. This will prevent flies from entering your home. Be sure to check all the sensitive areas from time to time, because if the larvae have appeared somewhere once, it may happen again.

ADVICE! If you don’t want to use ready-made disinfectants, you can make your own. Just pour 150 ml of high-concentration alcohol, 80 ml of water and 150 ml of spirit vinegar into a spray bottle.
