Midges are small insects from the fly family. They are characterized by short legs and a hair-covered abdomen. There are about 50 species of flies in Poland, and their greatest activity occurs during the holiday season. These insects bite people and although the bites are not dangerous, they can irritate the skin. How to relieve pain and itching after an encounter with midges?

Black flies like moist areas, so they can most often be found in grass, bushes and forests, as well as near rivers and lakes. They feed on flower nectar and sap, but they need protein in their bodies to lay eggs. They find them in the blood of humans and animals.
