Contrary to appearances, caring for and watering the Spathiphyllum is not the easiest thing to do. This beautiful potted plant with delightful flowers and lush green leaves requires special care.

Spathiphyllum is one of the most popular houseplants. It delights with its elegant and dignified appearance, with lush green and shiny lanceolate leaves. However, you need to know how often to water it and what to do if the leaves fall off or turn yellow.

How many times do you need to water the Spathiphyllum? Proper care is the key to beautiful plants

Spathiphytes do not require complicated cultivation, and their resistance to pests and diseases is high. For this reason, they are a great option for people who have little experience in growing potted plants. However, we should not mention the important issue, i.e. moisture, which these plants love. Abundant watering is highly recommended. To check whether the Spathiphyllum needs watering, simply stick your finger into the potting soil.

If the soil feels moist, it’s too early. If the soil is dry, it is a sign that it is time to provide water to the plant. The frequency will depend on many factors, however in summer it will be 3-4 times a week, in winter 1-2 times a week.

How to water the Spathiphyllum so that it grows well? Take care of the type of water

The type of water we water the Spathiphyllum with also matters. The best solution for this task is soft, filtered, boiled and allowed to stand for a while. Additionally, at room temperature. You can, for example, use tap water. After boiling, set aside for 1-2 days. During the growing season, you can also feed it with fertilizers dedicated to green and flowering plants.

WARNING! It is worth being careful when watering, as overwatering will result in limp and yellowing of the leaves. In turn, allowing the Spathiphyllum to dry out completely will cause the lower leaves to dry out. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
