Waynabox, the pioneer company in organizing surprise trips, celebrates ten years since its creation in 2014. Since its inception, Waynabox has organized nearly 81,000 getaways to a surprise destination for more than 250,000 travelers. In 2024 the company expects to reach an annual turnover of 14 million euros.
Thanks to the popularity of this new way of traveling, in the last three years the company has grown at an exponential rate and has achieved multiply your turnover by ten (+975%) and emerge stronger from the Covid-19 crisis.
In 2021 the turnover was 1.3 million and in 2022 it was 3.5 million. Subsequently, the acquisition by the Atresmedia group in March 2023 accelerated the growth of the Catalan travel tech company, which reached a turnover of 7.5 million.

In addition, we have the support of your team to face Waynabox’s great challenges, such as international strategy or the use of AI in our operations. Thanks to all this we have been able to grow at high speed in Spain and invest heavily in the internationalization of Waynabox in the last year,” details Jordi Agustí, CEO of Waynabox.
Among the company’s plans for the coming months is to strengthen new European markets, especially France, Germany and the Netherlandss, as well as growing in the gift box segment.
Waynabox, which is currently present in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom and Switzerlandis the leading company in organizing surprise getaways in Europe, in which the traveler does not discover their final destination until 48 hours before departure. As of today, the Waynabox team is made up of 25 people and its headquarters are located in the center of Barcelona.
Waynabox born in 2014 with the help of Pau Sendra, Ferran Blanché and Dani Jiménez to offer trips to a surprise destination and from its beginnings it obtained the support of Lanzadera, Juan Roig’s startup accelerator.
Throughout this decade, Waynabox has developed different types of surprise trips. The most popular is the surprise trip through Europe that allows you to discover the main cities of the continent, followed by Surprise Island, an exclusive product that is only available in summer for traveling to European beach destinations. Thirdly, there are the surprise road routes (roadtrips), which the company launched as a result of the pandemic and which invite you to discover Spain by car.
