The US Television Critics Association has selected the best of this year’s series premieres. We already know the nominees for TCA 2024 and it must be admitted that this time the productions were second to none. The platform’s works received as many as 16 nominations, just like those of FX. However, the leaders of the nominations this year are two Netflix titles – “Ripley” and “Reindeer”.
Netflix has the best series. TCA announced the nominations for its awards
“Shogun” from FX, available on Disney Plus in Poland, also received five nominations. Next in line is “The Bear” with four nominations, and “Fargo”, “The Native and the Furious” and “Hacks” can enjoy three chances for the statuette. A year ago, the main category was won by “Succession” from HBO Max, previously “Mission: Elementary”, and in 2021, the Television Critics Association awarded “Ted Lasso”. This year’s winners will be announced on July 12.
This year’s nominees also include the animated series “X-Men ’97.” “This is the essence of what gave the company an advantage over its competitors in all fields. However, the animation provides viewers with more than just an empty nostalgia festival and a nod to slightly out-of-date storytelling. The new X-Men give fans deeper characters, plots, relationships and a handful of unexpected plot twists, which raise the stakes. The series has grown up with its viewers and plays a slightly different role today than in the 1990s. Under the guise of pure entertainment and a time machine to the carefree years of childhood, it hides an important social commentary that is completely current, even though we wouldn’t want it to be. “-
The Television Critics Association also distinguished “Fallout” from Prime Video, which: “”Fallout” is a real gem, faithful to the original and relying on characters written from scratch, which turned out to be a good thing. You can feel the spirit, atmosphere and a large dose of love for the title here, which has become very important for many. It has already been announced that there will definitely be a second season of the series, and there is a great chance for a third one.
