“Jaka to melodia” is a popular Polish music game show that debuted on TVP1 on September 4, 1997. The format of the program is based on the American show “Name That Tune”. “What’s the melody?” gained enormous popularity thanks to its interactive formula, enabling viewers to guess the melody together and enjoy the classics of Polish and world music. For the first twenty years, the program was hosted by Robert Janowski, whose charisma and knowledge of music attracted crowds of loyal viewers. After his departure in 2018, the role of host was taken over by Norbi and then Rafał Brzozowski.
Since December, there have been events on Polish Television due to which many well-known hosts have said goodbye to their jobs, but there have also been great returns, such as Maciej Or¶o¶, who again became the host of “Teleexpress”.
Big comeback
Since Rafał Brzozowski stopped being the host of “Jaka to melodia?”, rumors about Robert Janowski’s return appeared in the media every now and then. “Pudelek” contacted the first host of the program and asked about his return. Robert Janowski gave a quite specific answer:

Janowski also has a specific vision. He is not happy with the changes introduced after his departure, particularly opposes the presence of disco polo songs and the lack of audiences that have been withdrawn during the pandemic. He believes that the return of the audience will liven up the atmosphere and encourage participants to compete.
Fear among current employees of the “Name that melody?” program
These changes have caused concern among program staff. There are concerns that the new-old leader may introduce his own colleagues, which may result in layoffs among the current staff, including choristers.
Janowski did not want to reveal the details of his return, but confirmed that something was up. “Pudelek” also asked the spokesman of Telewizja Polska about the return of the former presenter. TVP has not commented so far.
