I never do this with strawberries. I have another way. Thanks to this, they last up to two weeks

June is full of strawberries. Few people can resist the red pearls that tempt them from stands and stalls. Sometimes we actually buy as much as we need. However, it sometimes happens that we eat with our eyes and take a whole Łubianka or more. And then cry that so much was wasted. And all it took was one simple trick.

Strawberries are the real taste of summer. Delicious, sweet, juicy. Perfect to eat plain or in the form of a cocktail, cake or dipped in jelly. However, if we store them incorrectly – which is probably the case in most homes – the next day they are no longer suitable even for compote. After all, no one wants to eat or drink fruit with mold. But there is a solution. Just a simple change and no expensive gadgets.

It turns out that strawberries can stay fresh for much longer than just one or two days. The method is very simple, but it must be admitted that it is not very intuitive. It’s no wonder that not everyone thinks of treating strawberries this way.

How to store strawberries? They will stay like this for up to two weeks

The first instinct after buying strawberries is to throw them into a bowl of water and wash them. This makes sense if we plan to eat them all at once. Otherwise, let’s skip washing until we want to eat them. Washing makes strawberries spoil faster. And where to keep them? In a bowl on the counter? In a refrigerator? The brilliant method was presented on Instagram by home tricks expert Lux.ula:

  1. Don’t wash strawberries.
  2. Put them in jars and close them.
  3. Put in the fridge.

Strawberries stored this way can last for several days or even two weeks. Of course, before eating them, it is worth examining them carefully. But we should do this even if we just brought them from the market.

How to store strawberries to keep them fresh for a long time? Remember one thing

There were a lot of opinions from people who tested this method in the comments. Many of them have found that it really works. Some of them suggested what to pay attention to to increase the chance of success. Others laughed that they didn’t even try because their strawberries disappeared so quickly.

No way, I eat it the same day. They would have to run away from me.

I tried it and it actually works!

It’s true, it works. I have it checked. Similarly, it is suggested to store excess e.g. carrots, parsley roots, even washed but well dried before putting into jars.

As long as we buy them unwashed. The supermarket ones are always washed and spoil quickly.
