In the years 2016-2023, Beata Fido was employed at Telewizja Polska under an employment contract. As can be read in the announcement issued by TVP, she did not perform any work, and the employment itself – although fictitious – caused real financial damage to the company.
TVP: Beata Fido had a “fictitious” job at TVP World
Beata Fido is privately the partner of Jan Maria Tomaszewski, the cousin of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński. The actress played, among others, role in the film “Smolensk”. Shortly later, she found employment at TVP. In February this year, TVP’s first announcements regarding irregularities regarding her employment appeared. As Onet reported, Fido, employed as a “senior managing editor” full-time 40 hours a week, spent only 32 hours at work throughout the year.
Now TVP has submitted a notification to the prosecutor’s office about reasonable suspicion of committing a crime regarding the employment of the actress. The announcement states that this is a case of “many years of fictitious employment” that caused TVP financial damage of over PLN 1.5 million. This sum is the equivalent of the due remuneration paid to Beata Fido in the years 2016-2023 for the work for which she was employed, which, as TVP representatives claim, she did not perform in accordance with the contract.
TVP sent another notification to the Prosecutor’s Office on reasonable suspicion of committing a crime, relating to events during the period when Jacek Kurski was the president of the management board of the Company. The notification concerns the long-term fictitious employment of Beata Fido’s employee, who did not actually perform the work entrusted to her under the employment contract, which, taking into account the remuneration paid to her for the years 2016-2023, resulted in property damage to TVP in the amount of over PLN 1.5 million.

The media reported on the ambiguities regarding Beata Fido’s employment during the PiS government, but only changes in the public media and audits allowed for any steps to be taken in her case. that the actress’s earnings on TVP reach up to approximately PLN 14,000. PLN per month, but although the earnings are very real, “Fido’s employment is fictitious”.
