Remigiusz Mróz is one of the most prolific and widely read writers in Poland. His books sell like hot cakes and are eagerly translated into cinema. Since 2013, he has published over 50 novels with a circulation exceeding 10 million copies. Mróz’s filmed works include “Chyłka” with Magdalena Cielecka, “The Behaviorist” with Robert Więckiewicz, “Wotum of No Trust” and the recent Netflix hit – “Forst” with Borys Szyc. Another adaptation of the writer’s novel will be created soon.
There will be a new series based on Mróz’s novel. What will “Langer” talk about?
SkyShowtime announced the start of work on the series “Langer”. This is the second project in Poland announced by the platform recently. The website is also preparing the production of “Ślebod”. “Langer” will be a six-episode thriller with Jakub Gierszał in the title role. Piotr Langer is a young, ambitious businessman who inherited a financial holding after his tragically deceased father. In his free time from work, Piotr indulges in his long-time passion – he is an elusive serial killer who has been unsuccessfully pursued by prosecutors for years.
One day, a delightful woman appears in his life – Nina, who, in order to attract Langer’s attention and get closer to him, shows up at his charity gala. Soon after, she gets involved in a dangerous game and a relationship with Langer, which does not make it easier for her to look for evidence that he is a psychopathic murderer.
SkyShowtime announces a new Polish thriller
The creators of the production are people who have previously worked on Remigiusz Mróz’s books. The producer of “Langer” was Violetta Furmaniuk-Zaorska (“Woman of Success”, “Chyłka”, “The Behawiorist”), and the director was Łukasz Palkowski (“Gods”, “Chyłka”, “The Behawiorist”).
