Saudi Arabia is a country located in Western Asia, on the Arabian Peninsula. It has a lot to offer. Tourists are attracted primarily by desert landscapes, monumental temples and sunny weather. However, until 2019, obtaining a visa to this country was very difficult. Due to this, it was practically inaccessible to ordinary visitors.
Saudi Arabia opens to tourists. First flight from Poland
However, Saudi Arabia at some point began to open up to foreign tourists. Travelers have made it easier, and air connections have been opened from various European airports – including Italy, Romania, Hungary and Austria. It is worth mentioning that by 2030, Saudi Arabia intends to welcome up to 100 million tourists.
Now we will also fly to the capital of the country, Riyadh, from Warsaw. The first PLL LOT flight took place on June 4, 2024. The one-way trip took six and a half hours. Interestingly, the new connection was announced last year. Ticket sales started in December.
Connections from Warsaw will be operated three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Each departure is scheduled for 15:20. Flights from the capital of Saudi Arabia to Poland will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:25 local time. It is worth noting that flights to Riyadh from other Polish airports will probably be launched soon. The plans include Poznań, Kraków and Gdańsk.

According to the president of LOT Polish Airlines, Riyadh is a destination that may enjoy great popularity. – I believe that Riyadh will be an interesting destination for people who like to explore new, non-obvious places. At the same time, due to the growing economic cooperation and a large number of investments, Saudi Arabia is a promising market for Polish business – said Michał Fijoł, president of PLL LOT, quoted in the official announcement.
