Janusz Rewiński is dead. Siara from “Kiler” ended his career a decade after the film’s premiere. Why?

When the second part of the comedy debuted on screens in the late 1990s, Rewiński was at the peak of his popularity. He had a short episode in politics, in 1991 he was elected a member of parliament of the first term, and in the Sejm he headed the faction of the Polish Party of Beer Friends. He later returned to his profession and for some time appeared regularly on the screen, but usually not as an actor, but as a satirist. Initially, as a duo, he hosted the cabaret program “Ale Plama”, broadcast on TVN, and then he produced formats such as “Szkoda gać” and “Siara w kuluarach” for TVP. He last appeared on screen in 2007, playing an episode in the film “Ryś”, and then withdrew from public life for good.

The actor never hid that the role of Siara in “Kilera” effectively pigeonholed him, and although he could not complain about the popularity or sympathy of the viewers, he had no opportunity to further develop in his profession. Although family was previously the actor’s priority, when he retired, the perspective apparently changed. In an interview for the “Chic Conversations” program, he openly admitted that he leads a loner’s life and does not seek contact with friends or loved ones. – Fortunately, at this age I don’t need contact with my family. My sons don’t see me for months. They don’t need it and they don’t need me – . At the same time, he claimed that living away from the hustle and bustle of the big city was good for him and he finally felt happy, although still not completely fulfilled. – I guess I’m a loner now. I feel very good on my own, he added. However, he emphasized that nature gives him everything he needs. – Now I joke with cows and sheep, because at least they don’t get offended, they just wag their tails happily and belch – he joked in one of the interviews.
