Did the organizers of the festival in Opole “fuck their noses”? Rodowicz? They showed it on the video. “I won’t cry”

During this year’s festival in Opole, Maryla Rodowicz not only did not perform on stage, but was also completely ignored by the organizers. Unlike another artist who was once considered her greatest musical rival. Who are we talking about and what happened in the vision?

Although the 61st edition has already come to an end, this time it was not without loud scandals and scandals. Without a doubt, one of the biggest surprises was the absence from the event of , who had performed on the stage of the famous amphitheater as many as 43 times so far. Why was it omitted by the organizers?

Festival in Opole 2024. Rodowicz directly about why she was not invited to participate in the event

This year’s edition of the event was announced from the beginning as a completely new beginning. However, no one expected that there would be no invitation for one of the biggest stars of the Polish stage. The fact that Rodowicz would not perform during the festival was announced only a few days before its official start. However, the artist showed understanding and in an interview she emphasized that she had no grudge against the organizers. – I wasn’t invited, but I’ve been to Opole so many times that I won’t cry. I can’t repeat the same repertoire over and over again, and there would have to be some important reason why I would like to perform in Opole, she said.

Her opinion was apparently shared by the festival’s artistic director, Wojciech Iwański. In an interview, he directly admitted that the queen of Polish songs simply “didn’t fit the formula” of this year’s edition. – Please don’t think this is censorship. There is no censorship, there was no censorship, at least on my part, he added. And perhaps the matter would have gone unnoticed, if not for the fact that Rodowicz was completely omitted, while the program mentioned another star with whom she was once close.

Janusz Kondratowicz’s songs resounded in Opole. Rodowicz’s rival was mentioned from the stage

The final concert of the festival “Lovers Are Among Us” was devoted to the work of Janusz Kondratowicz, one of the most outstanding Polish lyricists. Although he was the author of the hit “Droga,ją Idę”, which was sung by, among others, , he was completely omitted from the event’s repertoire, as was the artist, who was only quickly mentioned by Kayah after her performance. A large part of the screen time was devoted to her singing the song “Jaka jest, Mario” on the stage of the amphitheater in 1972. What’s more, the organizers celebrated it not only with the performance of Kasia Moś and Andrzej Lampert, who presented their own interpretation, but also with an archival recording of the artist.

Rodowicz’s fans immediately began to see malice on the part of the organizers, as it is no secret that years ago Sipińska was considered her biggest rival. The singer claimed that her friend, who is 2 years younger than her, constantly copies her both musically and visually. However, the bitterness came to an end only in 1977, when during Sipińska’s performance on the Opole stage, Rodowicz, apparently in revenge, began to parody her, which led to a scuffle and then a “hat fight”. – It ended with Urszula’s jacket sleeve being torn off – journalist Maria Szabłowska, who was present at the incident.
