As a child, Marek Perepeczko was very slim and introverted. However, he was taller than his colleagues because he was 190 cm. At school, he struggled with teasing from his peers. He wanted to work on his body and self-confidence, so he joined a rowing club, became interested in bodybuilding, started training basketball, swimming, lifting weights and practicing martial arts. He managed to develop an athletic figure. At his peak, he had a chest circumference of 122 cm and a bicep circumference of 43 cm.
How old was Perepeczko in “Janosik”? Viewers loved him
Marek graduated from the acting department of the State Theater School in Warsaw. What’s more interesting, on the day he submitted the documents, he met his future wife, Agnieszka Fitkau. At first he performed in theaters. In 1965, he made his debut on the screen in “Then There Will Be Silence”. However, his greatest popularity came with his main role in “Janosik” from 1973. He was 31 years old then. The series referred to the character of the Tatra highwayman Juraj Janosík, who lived at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. It seemed that Perepeczko was the perfect candidate for this role: handsome, muscular, with a hypnotizing look. “Janosik” was supposed to be his ticket to the great. The actor actually gained enormous popularity, but he was forever labeled a slob.
What series did Perepeczko appear in? Until his death, he was associated with “Janosik”
In addition to “Janosik”, Perepeczko appeared in such productions as “Wesele”, “The 13th Precinct” and “Mr. Wołodyjowski”. However, viewers still remembered the figure of the young highlander. – Years later, he was happy that young people knew him as the commander of the “13th Precinct”, without accusing him of Janosik – said Agnieszka Fitkau-Perepeczko in one of the interviews. Marek was almost replaced in “Janosik” by someone else. His wife confessed that he almost lost the role. The reason was that he was “too pretty” and didn’t speak the dialect. The production thought he was “unsuitable” and wanted Czesław Jaroszyński in his place.
The situation was not helped by the fact that Marek Perepeczko did not get along with his co-stars, mainly Witold Pyrkosz. The cause of the dispute was a different lifestyle. – I saw how jealous friends moved away from him because he didn’t get drunk, he didn’t have affairs, because he was happy with me. Witold Pyrkosz had the biggest grudge against him for his absence during events, and that’s when our conflict began. You could say it was about vodka, because Marek didn’t drink at all – recalled Agnieszka. Perepeczko died in 2005. His wife played in “M jak miłość” from 2003 to 2007 and met Pyrkosz on the set. She still resented him for his behavior towards her husband and they were still in conflict. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
