Micha³ Szpak showed “God’s body” on Corpus Christi. Fan: You have to make fun of God

Micha³ Szpak consistently builds the image of an artist acting against the norms commonly considered to be binding. Negligee and sexual references are obligatory elements in his work. He didn’t hold back on Corpus Christi either.

is one of the most colorful artists currently performing in Poland. The singer enjoys playing with his image, crossing the boundaries of gender, sexuality, religion and customs. He also treats social media as a platform for his performances. Those related to the most popular religion in Poland also arouse the most controversy. Szpak likes to style himself as Jesus in his occasional posts – this was the case on Christmas and on the singer’s 33rd birthday. On Corpus Christi, he went half a step further and again caused an avalanche of comments.

Michał Szpak shows “God’s body” in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is one of the most important Catholic holidays celebrated in Poland with processions and a day off from work. You probably won’t find Michał Szpak during occasional marches of the faithful, but a photo of him with two friends posing in beautiful natural surroundings appeared on the artist’s Instagram:

God’s body – Michał Szpak signed the photo.

The photo was warmly received by the artist’s fans, but as always with this type of photographs, referring to circumstances important for Catholics, there was a doubt whether it was really appropriate to write “such” things on “such” a day.

You have to make fun of God and religious traditions a bit. Your mother wouldn’t be happy… – wrote a disgusted observer.

Following the rule of Instagram quarrels, his fans came to the musician’s aid. “Where do you see God being made fun of here?” – they tried to ask. Similar emotions were aroused by a photo posted in December, in which Szpak, styled as Jesus, posed with loved ones resembling Mary and Magdalene thanks to their outfits. “This has already exceeded a certain limit of taste. I say this as a believer,” “It exceeds the limits of any decency,” they wrote. As you can see, Michał Szpak doesn’t care much about it and acts in accordance with his own conscience and intuition.
