American actor Jeremy Renner, who has remained away from screens in recent months after suffering a serious accidentwill join the cast of the third installment of ‘Knives Out’ (Daggers in the Back) in what will be his first film after the incident.
This third installment of the successful mystery saga will star Daniel Craig, the famous agent 007, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter (THR) magazine.
Renner, star of the Marvel Universe, thus joins the new members of a cast that will include stars such as Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny, according to the specialized media.
The new installment of the franchise will be titled ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’ and, according to its producers, the plot will continue a new murder mystery in a setting yet to be revealed and will feature another eccentric list of suspects who will be investigated by Detective Benoit Blanc (Craig), explains THR.
With his participation in the film, Renner continues his re-entry into the cinematographic world after his complicated recovery after the accident suffered at the beginning of 2023 with a snowplow which caused more than 30 fractures.
Apart from having starred in multiple projects in the Marvel saga, Renner has acted in numerous commercial and critical successes, including two films in the ‘Mission: Impossible’ series, and has been nominated for two Oscars, including a supporting nomination for ‘The Town’ and another for best actor for his work in ‘The Hurt Locker’.
