Gołębiewski and Łobodziński did not have many opportunities to meet at work later. After appearing in a 7-episode youth series, their professional paths diverged, and soon their friendship ended. It is true that they met two decades later as the protagonists of a documentary about the fate of the cast of “Journey for One Smile”, but then their conversation did not stick at all and each of them went their separate ways. Everything changed only in 2002, when Łobodziński invited his former colleague for an interview. I don’t have half of my eyebrows, said Poldek. However, his treatment was slightly different. – I didn’t take chemotherapy, only radiation. I told myself, “Heniek, if others get through this, you will get through it too,” he recalled the difficult moments. And there were many more of them in their lives.

It is no secret that Gołębiewski struggled not only with illness, but also with alcohol addiction for many years. He tried to fight the addiction several times, but much more often he balanced on the verge of life and death. Only when he realized that it could ruin not only his health, but also his family, he decided to fight for himself. – I haven’t been drinking for over five years – he said in the latest interview. he perfectly understood his fears and concerns, as he had lost a daughter himself. 21-year-old Marysia died after an exhausting battle with glioblastoma. After her death, the actor suffered a nervous breakdown, but thanks to the help of specialists, he finally got back on his feet. – I lost my daughter.
