In Monday’s episode of “Millionaires”, Tomasz Wojsa from Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski sat opposite Hubert Urbański. The participant approached the game very carefully – he calmly analyzed each question, and if the situation required it, he followed his inner intuition. The first difficulties appeared with the amount of PLN 40,000, but the 50/50 lifeline effectively dispelled Mr. Tomasz’s doubts.
The embarrassing question about the bull in “Millionaires”
The question that ultimately decided the player’s fate was about the bull. Exactly? What bull? Neither the participant nor the audience had the right to know this because the question was formulated imprecisely. “Indicate the name of the resident with the bull” – said Hubert Urbański. There were, of course, four answers to choose from: a) from Malbork, b) from Żoliborz, c) Finka and d) Hażanin.
The participant tried to figure out what “bull” the producers of the program were talking about. At first he noticed the spelling of individual words, noting that the word “Hażanin” should be written in lower case. Later, Mr. Tomasz followed a slightly different path, looking for the letters forming the mentioned “bull” in each of the words. He noticed that they were in the word “malborczyk”, and then asked the presenter to mark this answer. After a while, Hubert Urbański read the explanation: “We write the inhabitants of countries, historical lands, provinces and districts of the country with a capital letter, and cities with a lower case letter. Hażanin is a resident of The Hague, a city in the Netherlands. It is about the bull, which is a spelling error.”
The content of the question caused a stir among Internet users, who accused the production of using imprecise wording. “The stupidest question in the history of this game show”, “It can be appealed against. If it was an error, the bull should have been written in quotation marks”, “Absurd question” – wrote viewers on the official “Millionaires” Facebook profile.
Let us remind you that on January 1, 2026, new recording rules established by the Polish Language Council will come into force. According to the new guidelines, the names of city residents will have to be written in capital letters.
