Every year during the summer season, the media is flooded with photos of “horror receipts” sent by readers. Horrendous prices for fish, chips and salad are common in Polish tourist destinations on the Baltic Sea.
Winter is no different, when tourists complain about the prices of restaurant dishes in the mountains. It is also known that in terms of inflation we are dealing with increasing prices. The prices of basic products such as fruit and vegetables are increasing at a surprising pace.
From time to time, Internet users themselves inform about it by publishing photos of receipts from supermarkets or bazaars on social media. This time, on the X platform, confusion was caused by one of the users who decided to share how much he paid for takeaway potatoes and cauliflower salad in one of the establishments. Potatoes and salad for over PLN 20. “Paragon of Horror” divided Internet users
“This is a real RECEIPT OF Terror! A portion of potatoes, a portion of cauliflower salad + packaging = PLN 20.50!!! It’s good that I already had the cutlet at home, because I’m afraid that with the cutlet it would cost PLN 50… Where do we live? “Because I’m in an ordinary city of 100,000 people. I’m still in shock…” (original spelling – ed.) – said Mr. Bartosz.
Potatoes cost the Internet user PLN 7.50, salad – PLN 10, and a bag and paper packaging PLN 1.50 each. He paid PLN 20.50 in total. The author of the entry did not reveal the name of the city or the place where he made the purchase. The photo, however, aroused considerable interest among other users of the X platform. Not everyone agrees with the author of the entry.

Normal price these days. I could buy half a kilo of potatoes and cauliflower and make it myself. And above all, check the prices and not moan about X, that the receipt is terrible. The minimum wage is increasing, inflation is decreasing, but prices are supposed to be from a few years ago, right?
First, people don’t look at the menu/price list as if it were a disgrace, and then when they have to pay, there is a huge outcry. BTW: in the store, a packet of salad is PLN 4, a small packet of potato dumplings is PLN 6
– they write in the comments. Another person added: “From the series, famous quotes: ‘It was already cheap…'”.
