Ryszard Rynkowski married Hanna in 1973. After the wedding, they moved to Warsaw, where the singer developed his musical career. Soon their daughter, Marta, was born. However, 23 years after the wedding, Rynkowski became a widower. Hanna died of breast cancer, and the musician mourned for a long time. Everything changed in the early 2000s, when Rynkowski met Edyta.

He met Edyta in person after one of the concerts. She was his fan, she went to his shows whenever she could, she knew all the songs. Finally, she approached Rynkowski for an autograph. The musician was immediately infatuated. The same day, after Edyta called his hotel, they arranged to meet for coffee.
As the musician recalled, both of them had a lot of doubts at the beginning of their relationship, mainly because of the significant age difference. They were 22 years apart. That’s why they hid their relationship for a long time, also from their loved ones. In the conversation, Rynkowski talked about what the beginnings were like. They went on their first date to Krakow. He was over 50 then, she was just over 30. – For me it was terrifying, because Edyta looked like a wonderful girl. And next to her was an old man with a belly. We stayed a meter away from each other. Not because I was ashamed of her, but because she was so attractive to me. I prayed that none of my friends would see us. And of course he saw it – he betrayed it.

In 2006, they decided to get married and then officially confirmed their relationship. Rynkowski was 55 years old, Edyta 33. Two years later, their son, Ryszard Junior, was born. The birth of the child was a small miracle, as the couple had been trying to have a child for a long time, but to no avail. – We went to Lourdes, to visit friends, and spent the night there. That was that time, and the next day Edyta’s coffee didn’t taste as good as before. Was it a gift from the Virgin Mary? For us, yes, but let everyone think what they want, Rynkowski said.
