Grab a patch and stick it on the door. This is the first thing you should do in the hotel room

The holiday season encourages traveling and exploring new places. During our vacation, we leave the daily routine and indulge in blissful relaxation. When we care about comfort, we often choose to stay in a hotel. But do you know what to avoid?

More and more often, women focus on their independence and travel alone. However, this requires a special approach to safety, even when choosing hotel accommodation. We must pay attention to a few things that will ensure a good night’s sleep, because choosing a reputable place to stay is not the only thing that is crucial.

What to avoid in a hotel? First of all, take care of your safety

To make our stay safe and comfortable, we must pay attention to several things. In addition to taking standard precautions, we can better prepare for an overnight stay. There are a few simple patents that will give us a greater sense of security. In hotels we can often find room doors with a built-in peephole. Theoretically, this is done for our convenience because we can see who is standing in the corridor. In practice, however, it works both ways and an outsider can easily check our presence. As we know, empty rooms can be easily robbed, so such peepholes provide an opportunity for thieves.

To prevent peeping, just tape the eyelet in the door with a plaster or stick a piece of paper rolled up several times with adhesive tape in this place. This way, no one will be able to check whether there is any movement in the room or whether the light is on. Before you go to bed, it’s a good idea to put a coin on the doorknob. If someone pulls the doorknob, the coin will fall to the floor with a clatter and you will know that someone is lurking behind the door.

What should you never use in a hotel? Avoid suspicious fire mirrors

Sometimes it happens that mirrors in rooms or bathrooms turn out to be one-way mirrors. They work in such a way that we look at our own reflection without being aware of anything, and the person on the other side can observe us without any problems. Fortunately, we can easily check this with a marker. Just take a marker and draw a line on the glass. When we see only one line, it can make us alert because a regular mirror always reflects a line and two should be visible. It is best to cover such a mirror with something for our peace of mind. To avoid leaving any marks on the mirror, remove the mascara using a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover with acetone or strong alcohol, e.g. vodka. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
