He pretended to be a priest and was looking for a woman whom he could absolve. Finally, he caught

There is new information about a fraudster who impersonated a famous priest, Adrian Chojnicki, on dating sites. Let us remember that half a year ago the priest reported everything to the police.

This is a continuation of the case from November last year. Six months ago, priest Adrian Chojnicki, known on TikTok as Padre Adriano, notified the police that someone was impersonating him on dating sites. The priest decided to take consequences. – I am not going to be indifferent – said in 2023 the priest of the parish of Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus in Rybnik.

As “Dziennik Zachodni” reports on Friday, fake accounts on dating websites with the stolen identity of Father Chojnicki were created by a 23-year-old man from the Głogów district in November 2023. On the profiles he wrote, among other things, that he was looking for “a woman whom he could absolve” . He illegally used photos of Father Chojnicki.

As a result of the activities undertaken, criminal investigators under the supervision of the Rybnik district prosecutor’s office determined that the perpetrator of impersonating a priest was a 23-year-old resident of the Głogów district.

– Senior officer Bogusława Kobeszko from the Rybnik police press team told “Dziennik Zachodni”. The 23-year-old will pay dearly for his actions. He was charged with identity theft and faces up to 8 years in prison. The indictment was sent to the District Court in Rybnik.

He stole the priest’s identity and wanted to “absolve women.” Cheater caught

Let us remind you that the situation in which Padre Adriano found himself was described last year in Matka.gazeta.pl. The priest famous on TikTok is followed by over 87,000 people. In his films, the priest usually talks about faith, but he also reveals various details from the life of clergy. In November 2023, his fans discovered suspicious-looking profiles on several dating websites that were allegedly created by Father Chojnicki. However, this was not true.

Fans quickly informed the priest about their discovery. The priest said that he received messages on this matter from as many as 20 people. He described the entire incident on Facebook. “Recently, my photos have reached places I wouldn’t have expected. If they were used for good purposes, it wouldn’t matter, but photos of priests on dating sites such as Tinder/Badoo arouse at least consternation. And, unfortunately, proposals about of a sexual nature, asking to send nude photos and at the same time obtaining money from the stream,” we could read.

The priest emphasized that he felt embarrassed by the fraudster’s behavior. “I believe that such behavior violates my good name and constitutes impersonation of my person (and these are already articles in the Penal Code). It is not fair, so I do not intend to remain indifferent. The case has been reported – said the priest. – I receive a lot of messages of support. “I don’t need it, but I appreciate it. Thank you. If by any chance the person who used my image reads this, please contact me,” he wrote on Facebook six months ago.
