The Jewish Culture Festival canceled its flagship event
For years, the festival has been accompanied by the “Shalom on Szerokiej” concert, which has so far enjoyed great popularity and was one of the most characteristic points in the event schedule. Every year it gathered tens of thousands of participants. According to krknews.pl, unfortunately the concert will not take place this year.
The organizers made this difficult decision out of concern for the safety of festival participants after consulting the police, city guards and security services. – This year’s Jewish Culture Festival takes place in a very complicated political and social situation in Israel and the Middle East. “Shalom on Szeroka Street” will not take place. For the good of festival participants
– Taking care of your safety, we have decided to cancel this year’s “Shalom on Szeroka” concert. The situation in the Middle East provokes many people to extreme behavior, and we do not want to expose you to danger or even discomfort during a concert whose message is peace – they explain.
However, this does not mean that there will be no concerts and music during the 33rd edition of the Jewish Culture Festival. This year, the event’s concert hall will be the Museum of Engineering and Technology for the duration of the renovation of the Tempel Synagogue, where concerts have previously been held. During the event, you will be able to learn about the many faces of contemporary Jewish music. “From klezmer music to Hebrew tangos, from mystical Jewish songs and prayers to rock versions of cantorial music,” we read in the event announcement.
