Jan AP Kaczmarek is dead. He was seriously ill

The Polish Music Society quotes the composer’s wife. “After a long and serious illness, my husband Jan AP Kaczmarek died. He was a warrior until the end, trusting that he would recover and share his work with us… I stayed with him until the end. He died surrounded by love. The value he believed in the most,” she said.

A few months ago, the media reported that the artist was admitted to hospital due to complications following pneumonia. Since then, his health has gradually deteriorated. The composer’s family then informed him that he could no longer function independently and needed help with everyday activities. The musician also suffered from a severe neurological disease called multiple system atrophy. A collection was organized to help him and his family.

“We – me, my siblings and his wife – took advantage of every opportunity and did our best to help them financially, but his needs exceeded our capabilities,” wrote Anastazja Kaczmarek then. As the composer was no longer able to work, his wife had to suspend her work to take care of her husband and their seven-year-old son.
