Triplet – Growing it at home is quite simple
A very nice and common plant both in homes and in gardens is the tetra. Growing it is not complicated, which is probably good news for people who do not have the hand and patience for flowers but want to have ornamental plants at home. What are the most important issues in growing triplet plants?
The plant should be planted in universal soil. It is important that the soil in which it grows is permeable. It is worth putting drainage at the bottom of the pot (e.g. expanded clay) to prevent water from accumulating there. This plant does not like water very much. Therefore, be careful when watering it and do not spill water on the leaves. They should also not touch wet ground. The substrate should be damp, but if we overflow and the water collects in the base, it should be poured out. The three-spotted cat also doesn’t like spraying. It is worth fertilizing the plant from time to time with a preparation for potted plants.
Triplet – plant reproduction
Propagating triplets is an important issue, especially when one plant grows lushly and we would like to have more of them at home, or when we want to share it with someone else. After all, many people like the triplet. Reproduction is not complicated. Use a sharp knife, scissors or pruners to cut off the shoot with the growth tip. The length of the cut fragment depends on the size of the plant. Then tear off the lower leaves so that only part of them is immersed in water after they are torn off. The leaves should not touch the water. We put such twigs into a vessel with water, e.g. a glass. When they take root, they should be planted – preferably with an all-purpose plant. Remember to line the bottom of the pot with something that will ensure drainage.
A triplet and a flower? Does this plant bloom?
Yes – it has tiny flowers. The plant and the flowers that may appear on it depend on the variety. Each of them has slightly different flowers. This plant will thrive if it is provided with everything it needs to grow properly.
The three-leaf was hanging down. What does it look like?
The three-spotted three-spot is one of the three-spotted three-spotted varieties. Its Latin name is Tradescantia Zebrina. It is a little different from its “sisters” because compared to them it has quite large leaves. Its shoots can reach up to a meter in length. Delicate, glittery leaves with a purple shade are extremely decorative and look beautiful when placed at a height. Its cultivation and propagation is as easy as other triplets.
