Prince Charles and Camilla accompany Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle for Christmas

The sovereign recently communicated that she would not move to Sandringham, to celebrate Christmas, this as a precautionary measure due to COVID-19.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, will spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle, after the sovereign decided not to travel to her residence at Sandringham, as he always does at this time, reported this Thursday, December 23, a spokesman for the heir to the British crown.

The 95-year-old sovereign recently announced that she would not move to Sandringham, in the east of England, to celebrate Christmas, as is tradition, as a precaution against the rapid spread of covid-19 in the United Kingdom.

Queen Elizabeth will not celebrate Christmas

This will be the first Christmas that Elizabeth II spends without her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died last April at the age of 99.

A spokesperson for Clarence House, the official London residence of the Prince of Wales, confirmed the presence of Charles and Camilla with the queen, but it has not yet been reported where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine will spend Christmas.

This year, the queen has been forced to cancel official commitments, such as her attendance at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow (Scotland) in November, to rest on the recommendation of doctors. (I)
