Euskaraz irakurri: Kimuak katalogoa osatuko duten zazpi film laburrak aukeratu dituzte

After analyzing 47 proposals, the jury has already chosen the seven films that will make up the Kimuak catalog in its 27th edition. These are ‘Dinosaurioak’ (Koldo Almandoz), ‘Errotatiba’ (Iratxe Fresneda), ‘Etorriko da (eta zure begiak izango ditu)’ (Izibene Oñederra), ‘Exergo’ (Jorge Moneo Quintana), ‘Patrimonio’ (Aitor Abio ), ‘Salt covers everything’ (Joana Moya Blanco) and ‘Utländsk’ (Alba Lozano)

The program is articulated through Etxepare Euskal Institutua and Zineuskadi, and its objective is the promotion and dissemination of Basque short films. Like every year, this selection will be sent “starting today” to the most important international film festivals around the world.

This year’s Selection Committee was made up of Alaitz Arenzana, artistic director of the Bilbao Zinegoak LGTBIQ+ International Film and Performing Arts Festival and member of the Sra. Polaroiska artistic collective; Claudio Zilleruelo Acra, founder and artistic director of Black Canvas Contemporary Film Festival; and Xavi Herrero, director and programmer of Ibizacinefest-Eivissa International Independent Cinema Festival.

One of the films is made entirely in Basque, another in Basque and Spanish and another in Basque, Spanish and English. Two have Spanish as their main language, and the other two do not contain dialogues.
