On Sunday evening, firefighters finished extinguishing the fire in the building of the former Marywilska 44 shopping center. The building housed shops and cultural events, such as disco polo festivals. Zenek Martyniuk announced that he would like to take part in a charity concert for the center’s employees injured by the fire.

On the night of May 11-12, fire consumed the Marywilska 44 shopping center in Warsaw. Previously, the facility was not only a commercial space for over 1,400 stores, but also a place where cultural events took place. The gallery located in Białołęka hosted educational exhibitions, a car cinema and concerts of disco polo stars.

Zenek Martyniuk, among others, performed on the stage at Marywilska 44. In a conversation with Plejada, the artist expressed his appreciation for the organizers of the events there: “It was a very nice place in Warsaw, there was always a very professional stage set up between these halls. Very nice organizers, everything – in terms of sound system and so on – was organized and well organized. the last button,” he explained.

The singer also expressed his readiness to perform a charity performance for the workers of a former shopping center injured by the fire. Martyniuk announced that if the disco-polo community comes up with an idea to organize this type of event, he will try to take part in it. “If there is a need for help, if there is a need to play a charity concert, I will definitely join in. I would be happy to play, as long as it does not interfere with our previously scheduled concerts. If there is such a need, I will definitely be happy to do so.” We will mobilize ourselves and play,” he concluded.

More than 240 firefighters and 78 fire extinguishing vehicles took part in the firefighting operation of a shopping center in Warsaw’s Białołęka district. The fire spread quickly due to the flammable materials inside. The fire was extinguished until late on Sunday evening. For now, experts cannot get inside the hall: “Experts will be able to start work when it is safe,” said Adam Strąk from the State Fire Service in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl.
