He was 14 at the time and didn’t think of it as a game. – I don’t consider this film an official debut, because during the performance I didn’t feel like I was an actor, but I felt like I was participating in the Warsaw Uprising – he explained in an interview with TVP. However, it was this role that inspired him, because although in the 1950s he dreamed of a football career, he ultimately decided to study acting.

– I played many military men, mainly commanders. I don’t know what it is about me that makes me be cast in the roles of strong guys, probably vanity and pride make me agree to such propositions. Later, I started escaping into character roles – he summed up on TVP. He took his first steps in his career on screens at a time when “cross-dressing” was out of the question. – We started at a time when every role counted. There were few films, only 10-15 were made a year. There was one TV program. There was no garbage bin from which we choose today – he said in the interview You can find more photos by Jan Englert in the gallery at the top of the page.
