On Tuesday The first 10 countries qualified for the Eurovision final in a fairly quiet first semi-final; Two days later, another 10 did so in the second semifinal, somewhat more moved by the presence of Israel and the criticism of their participation in the festival. These 20 artists join those who represent the six countries that do not need to be classified to perform in the final, among which is Spain – in addition to the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany, members of the Big Five, and the host country, Sweden – to close the list of 26 countries that risk everything in the Festival.

Among them will also be Israel, which managed to sneak into the grand final despite the controversy surrounding its participation due to the attacks by the Israeli Army in Gaza in recent months and which has caused nearly 40,000 deaths. The intervention in the semifinals of Eden Golan, Israeli representative, was marked by loud boos. This situation has provoked various reactions, such as that of the journalist Pilar Gomez, who has not hesitated to defend the artist in Al Rojo Vivo. What countries were eliminated?
Countries that failed to reach the final during this week’s qualifiers have been Australia, Poland, Moldova, Iceland, Azerbaijan, malt, Albania, Czech Republic, Denmark, Belgium and San Marino. The latter country attended the contest represented by the Spanish alternative rock group Megara and his song ’11:11′which has not been able to sneak into the 26 chosen.
During this year’s semi-finals it was also possible to enjoy the performances of the Big Five and the host country, although they did so with the certainty that they had already qualified for the final of the “European” competition. And we put “European” in quotes because although the bulk of the participants come from European countries, it must be taken into account that other countries from other continents may participate, as is the clear case of Israel or Australia.
