We don’t know yet which place Luna took in Tuesday’s semi-final, of which 10 out of 15 artists qualified for the next stage. The exact voting results in both semi-finals will be made public only after Saturday’s concert. However, it is certain that the Pole was not among the top ten representatives appearing on Tuesday. This is certainly a disappointment for Luna herself, the team supporting her in Malmö and the fans.
Luna addressed fans after the Eurovision semi-final. She referred to the title of her piece
Luna (real name Aleksandra Katarzyna Wielgomas) sang the song “Tower” in Malmö. The authors are Maxwell Cooke and Paul Fyfe Dixon and Luna herself. During the competition, the Pole was supported vocally on stage by Maciej Starnawski, whom Eurovision fans may recognize from his participation in the preselections for Eurovision 2008, and Marta Dywicka. Dancers also performed with Luna. The scenography was complemented by huge chess towers.
In an Instagram post written in English, Luna referred to the song’s title. “Even though I didn’t make it to the finals, I’m happy that I could share my world with you and build two towers on this amazing stage. One for me and one for all of you,” she wrote. She then addressed her fans with the following words:
When you feel weak, lonely, different, abandoned, you can hide in this tower. You can also build a new one. You decide. I am so happy and grateful that I was able to be myself this whole time.
“I am very grateful for this wonderful opportunity, this fantastic journey, and most of all for all of you. Thank you for all your love and support. A new chapter is coming. Stay with me in light, love and freedom,” concluded the singer. It is known that he is not returning to Poland yet – he wants to watch Saturday’s Eurovision final in Sweden.
