At least 35,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s invasion of Palestine last October. For several months, Israel has been attacking, in addition to military targets, hospitals, refugee camps and residential districts in response – in many people’s opinion a decidedly disproportionate response. That is why the performance of the country’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest, which claims to be apolitical, arouses particular emotions this year.
