Patitas Calendar already has its 2022 edition; National Talents Pose for Yearbook to Benefit Homeless Pets

This initiative seeks to create awareness of the care and adoption of pets to prevent them from being abandoned.

Christmas is synonymous with sharing love. If this day you are one of those who prefer to surround yourself with your family and friends, and if you are still looking for a gift for them, the Patitas 2022 calendar is an option to give away (while helping animal foundations).

The actress and activist Prisca Bustamante is the promoter of this initiative. “This calendar, in recent years I share the production with María Fernanda Maldonado, and it has been in the making for more than ten years. I started with the calendar to help the foundations with funds. To do so, I was encouraged by some institutions that needed resources for some rescues, for shelters, for medicines, run over animals; So, I started with the calendar. At the beginning I did it alone and with the participation of artists, singers, celebrity characters, actors. I have also had some international figures, including one of the Menudo. We have tried to get and involve people who love animals ”, he details.

In the photos that appear on the calendar, Bustamante explains that not everyone has their own pets. In these cases, the characters pose with the animals that live in the shelters and foundations that they sponsor. “This year, for example, Yilda Banchón has no animals, but we took her to the Yo Amo Animals kitten shelter and that’s where the photos were taken,” he says.

Bustamante also indicates that, unlike previous years, in which Joshua Degel was in charge of the photographic part, in this edition they had the collaboration of Rosi Esteves. “Before we did it in the studio, but now we decided to do it outdoors to have more stages. One of the photos was also taken by Nevel Saberhagen ”, he adds.

One of the characters that also appears in the yearbook is the actress Tania Salas along with her puppy Canguil, who died a month ago due to his advanced age.

Sergio Sacoto, María José Blum, Julián Campos and Kimberly Cedeño, Chino Moreira, Pamela Cortés, Lucho Aguirre, Diego Chiang, Danilo Esteves and Bárbara Fernandes also joined in.

The selling price of the calendar is $ 5 per unit. “Two thousand copies were printed, they have already been distributed to different foundations, they are in charge of selling them. Perhaps the financial aid for them is not much, because they need a lot, but it is about creating awareness among people so that it is adopted, not bought, sterilized, loved and not abandoned, because this entails a great responsibility ”, he emphasizes.

Among the foundations and shelters, Bustamante mentions Animal Rescue, Yo Amo Animals, ADVA, Alma Animal, Amigos con Cola, Casa Saskia, Camino a Casa, MCA, PANA and ARCA, from Guayaquil, Cuenca, Quito and Machala. (I)
