The 1990s in the music industry are now called the golden age of boy bands. This was especially visible in America, where the Backstreet Boys were a hit. On the wave of its popularity, renowned producer and composer Sławomir Sokołowski decided to check whether the idea would also be accepted on the domestic market. He immediately took action.

Already in March 1997, the search for vocalists to join the band began. The competition was huge, because as many as 600 men aged 15 to 25 showed up at the casting organized for this purpose. Ultimately, Grzegorz Kopala, Robert Kryla, Daniel Moszczyński, Shadi Atoun and . And this is how the famous boy band was created, i.e. the first and basically the only boy band in the domestic music industry.

Preparations for the debut started in full swing almost immediately. Their first studio album was released just a few months later, causing a real stir. It was promoted by “Gdzie nie ma Róż” and “Kolorowe sny”, with which they are still mainly associated. The lyrical layer was created by Karol Kus, and the composition by Sokołowski, and the recordings themselves lasted only 2 days. – This is the essence of dance music from the 1990s – said Krzysztof Kasowski in the “History of One Hit” program on TVP2.

The producers thought it would be a hit, but no one expected the success they achieved in just a few months. Three months after their debut, Just 5 began touring intensively. While the first album went platinum and some of its songs had five minutes on the charts, the second one went largely unnoticed. However, the beginning of the end was in the 2000s, when Grzegorz Kopala left the team. The singers announced the release of another album, but it never happened.
