“Zadra” is a talented girl from a housing estate who fights for recognition on the rap scene. Although she seems to be an ordinary teenager, in front of the microphone, she gains incredible energy and charisma, thanks to which she can captivate crowds. However, in a testosterone-rich environment, it’s hard to find a place for people like her. Zadra fights for dreams, but most of all for a better tomorrow for his family. Despite this, music is not everything, because love will have a key influence on the main character’s life.
“Splinter”. This movie will be bustling with beats
Grzegorz Mołda is responsible for directing, whose previous short film “The End of Vision” was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The script was written by Monika Powalisz, co-author of, among others the series “Belfer”. Magdalena Wieczorek plays the title role (for the first time on the big screen), and she is partnered by Jakub Gierszał, Magdalena Różczka and Ignacy Liss. The audience will be surprised by the participation of Margaret, who takes her first steps in the film.
– On the one hand, my character is Zadra – a stage animal and the queen of the stage. On the other hand, she is Sandra – a girl from the neighborhood who tries to make ends meet. Zadra fights for respect and fame, Sandra fights for love and family. To find happiness and fulfillment, these two characters and their desires must come together. It seems almost impossible – says the debuting Magdalena Wieczorek.
Producer 1988 (eight-eight), Przemysław Jankowiak, co-founder of the cult band Syny, also known for his cooperation with the legend of Polish rap – Włodim, is responsible for the music in the film. Jankowiak is associated with the Def Jam Recordings Poland label. A dozen or so works were created especially for the film with the participation of Magdalena Wieczorek and Jakub Gierszał. The texts of “Zadra” were written by Michał “Żyto” Żytniak, an artist who recorded for Asfalt Records and Prosto.
“Zadra” is produced by TFP on behalf of Telewizja Polsat, Cyfrowy Polsat and Polkomtel. Distribution Talks Service is responsible for distribution in cinemas. The film will hit theaters at the end of 2022.
