Sometimes it also happens that some people fidget, snore or talk in their sleep, which makes it difficult for their other half. Despite these inconveniences, is it worth giving up one bed? It turns out that not necessarily.

One of the biggest benefits of sleeping with someone is the sense of security it gives us. – These emotional states are an important clue to the brain that it may lower its alertness and fall asleep – admits Wendy Troxel, a behavioral specialist, in an interview with . The feeling of security is increased by oxytocin, commonly known as the love hormone. Thanks to it, we fall asleep faster, rest more efficiently and stay in REN sleep longer, i.e. more regenerative sleep. In addition, oxytocin reduces the level of cortisol responsible for stress.
