The adventures of 8-year-old Kevin conquered the world exactly 31 years ago. Many people laugh that without Kevin there is no holiday, and there is something to it. In Poland, we have been able to watch the film in Polsat for years and after the mishap in 2010, the station no longer makes this mistake and usually broadcasts the film in the evening on Christmas Eve. Each of us already knows by heart the layout of all rooms in the great McCallisterer mansion. It turns out that the new owners have made many changes over the years. So what does the house of the most popular 8-year-old who defended it like a fortress against thieves look like?
Everyone knows this house
Fans of the Kevin movie surely know that this property does exist and was rented from a real family for the time of shooting. The property is located in Winnetka, Illinois. Cynthia Abendshien and her husband bought it in 1988 for $ 800,000. Two years later, they agreed to share the property with the Kevin Home Alone crew. Back then, however, they did not think that the crowds would want to see their home live.
The couple sold the property in 2012 for $ 1.5 million. The current owners decided to turn the house upside down and thoroughly renovated it. Real estate agent Marissa Hopkins shows in a YouTube video what the house looks like now.
The video shows the iconic stairs that Kevin used to run down in the film. Although they have not changed their shape, they have changed their decor. The kitchen and living room are also completely different. In the recording, the owners emphasize that this is their dream home. You can watch the entire video below. And you can see the photos in our gallery at the top of this article.
And you would like to visit Kevin’s house? Or maybe you are interested in the second part of his adventures and would prefer to spend the night in the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York? Recently, Polish youtubers did it and were quite surprised.
