Route through the art of Nestor Basterretxea in Vitoria

Vitoria will host three exhibitions this fall on the figure of Nestor Basterretxea, and the institutions that host them (Basque Parliament, Vital Foundation and Artium Museum) have launched the initiative “Basterretxea step by step”, a program of free guided tours that run through the three spaces.

The visits will begin with the exhibition “Izaro-Nestor Basterretxea”, with which the Basque Parliament remembers the creator of its institutional symbol. The next stop will be the Fundación Vital exhibition hall, which brings together 300 works by the artist, many of them unpublished and loaned by his family.

The tour will conclude at the Artium, where Basterretxea has a “unique presence” in the exhibition “Zeru bat, hamaika bide”, as reported by this museum in a press release.

The visits, which will last an hour and a half and will be on foot, will be held every Saturday, Sunday and holidays between October 16 and December 8. There will be tours in both Spanish and Basque and they will be free, although you must first register at the Artium.
