Blueberries are small and medium-sized shrubs that are a decorative and productive addition to any garden. In spring they produce small, white, bell-shaped flowers, in summer juicy, dark blue fruits appear, and in autumn the leaves often turn attractive shades of yellow, red and purple. Blueberries are perfect for jams, cakes, dumplings, pancakes and breakfast dishes.

What is the best fertilizer for blueberries? A natural way to create ideal conditions for development

Soil preparation is crucial to plant health. Blueberries prefer acidic soil with a pH between 3.5 and 5. If we want to collect delicious and plump blueberry fruits, we should also remember about systematic fertilization. Coffee grounds will work great in this case. This is an option if you want to fertilize your blueberries organically. Mainly due to the high nitrogen content, which is a key nutrient involved in plant growth and development.

You can scatter them around the bushes and mix the top layer of soil. You can also use a quick mixture to water the plant.

  1. You need a glass of coffee grounds for three liters of water.
  2. Mix everything thoroughly.
  3. Fertilize the soil regularly once every two weeks.

How to plant blueberries? Take care of appropriate growing conditions

To grow blueberries in your garden, choose a sunny spot with well-drained, weed-free soil. Avoid planting near trees that block sunlight and suck moisture from the soil. It is best to grow blueberries in a place where it is easily accessible, so that their roots will remain moist throughout the growing season.

  1. Plants should be placed in holes 50 cm wide and 40 cm deep.
  2. Place berry bushes at a distance of 2-3.5 m. The minimum distance is 1.2 m.
