This resolution comes – especially for the mother bear, whose skin later ends up on the floor in Lord Farquad’s chamber. Fortunately, daddy bear and his son are safe, but that doesn’t mean they are happy – we see them once again, despairing in Shrek’s swamp, missing Mrs. Teddy Bear.

The dark humor of “Shrek” is often noticed only after watching it several times, when you can look at the details hidden in the background of the main plot.
