“Rodzinka.pl” is basically a cult series. Since its debut in 2011, it has won the hearts of many viewers with its warm and often humorous portrayal of the Boski family struggling with everyday life challenges.
The end of the series in the spring of 2020 after broadcasting 16 seasons caused a wave of disappointment among fans who did not expect such a sudden end to their beloved production. Alone Tomasz Karolak did not hide his outrage, saying that work on the set was interrupted “out of all decency”. The fans’ grief and dissatisfaction were further intensified by the fact that the last season offered only 8 episodes, which was much less than expected. Showing the mishaps in the last episode, although it was a form of farewell, left me feeling unsatisfied.
Who from the original cast will definitely return?
The latest reports indicate that the creators of the series have already started preparations for the new series. Much of the original cast incl Małgorzata Kożuchowska, Tomasz Karolak and Julia Wieniawa have already expressed interest in returning to the set. Nothing is known about the actors playing the sons of the Boski family at the moment.
The production of the series “Rodzinka.pl”, the costs of which are to be much lower than those incurred by TVP for expensive historical productions, is perceived as a strategic move. The series enjoyed very good viewership results. The 16th season had an average viewership of 857,000 viewers per episode and was especially popular in the 16-59 age group.which makes it an attractive design for the station.
There is a chance that the new season will debut next year!
However, it is not known whether Telewizja Polska will exclusively produce the series, as before. According to one of the people associated with the production, work is already underway on the script for new episodes and if everything goes as planned by the creators, we will see a new season of “Rodzinki.pl” in 2025.. All previous episodes can be watched on TVP VOD. Also some time ago, Netflix obtained a license for the first seasons of the series, thanks to which its popularity increased again for some time.
