Election evening on Republika TV is lavish. A red carpet and a drone, but there are plenty of guests

TV Republika organized an election evening summarizing the results of the second round of parliamentary elections. Special guests were invited – viewers who gathered in front of the station’s headquarters. Shots “from the ground” gave hope for the crowd. Aerial shots dispelled these hopes.

All major television stations in Poland organized election nights to celebrate the end of the second round of local government elections. TVN covered the closing of polling stations in its studio, TVP similarly, and Polsat News too. she couldn’t be worse, in fact she wanted to be better.

It was decided to invite not only political guests, but also viewers to the journalistic election evening. Unfortunately, they responded somewhat reluctantly to the call to come. Only a handful of people with two banners showed up on the red carpet (!) in front of the station’s headquarters at Dzielna Street in Warsaw.

Sunday evening in Poland was one of the coldest in recent weeks. The weather hasn’t been spoiling us for several days now, but it’s the evenings that are most noticeable – it’s cold and even frosty in some regions of the country. TV Republika nevertheless organized part of the election evening outside, in front of the entrance to the station’s headquarters. A red carpet was rolled out, cameras and lighting were installed, and a drone was launched. However, there were no guests – only a handful of the most committed people came, and they tried to make a crowd using shots from cameras on the ground. It even worked – the banners covered much of the view and shouted strong slogans. Drone shots showed the true numbers – about 20-25 people came.

Why are you with us? – Danuta Holecka will ask.

Because we love you! We love the Republic, we love Poland, we love PiS, we are out of love for Poland – they said enthusiastically.

The conversation with the gathered viewers quickly turned into a discussion about the migration pact, which could be shortened to the words: “we have nothing against migrants, we need to help them, BUT.” Two PiS councilors invited to the headquarters were also asked whether they would be able to implement the promised demands.
